On August 19, Remai Modern hosted the first of three unique new fundraisers that celebrate the art and artists on display at the museum. Looking Up — Zachari Logan was an intimate evening that included food, performance and more, all in the name of raising funds for art programs.
Guests of this special event were treated to a menu using fresh ingredients from the Saskatchewan wild, pairings of organic wine and a performance by Saskatchewan’s first Youth Poet Laureate, Alasdair.
Zachari Logan: Ghost Meadows opened at Remai Modern on August 21 and runs until January 9, 2022 in the museum’s free Connect Gallery. It marks the artist’s first major solo exhibition in his hometown of Saskatoon. Stay tuned for more Currents posts that delve into this new body of work.
Looking Up is a new series of fundraisers built around Remai Modern’s current exhibitions, designed exclusively for members. Featuring themed cuisine, cocktails and performances inspired by the artists, these events take place on the museum’s stunning rooftop deck. We are grateful for the support of ticketholders who help ensure art is accessible for everyone in our community.
Two Looking Up events remain in the series, celebrating other exhibitions now on view at the museum:
- August 26: Looking Up — inspired by A Formative Encounter: African and Oceanic Artists and Picasso
- September 9: Looking Up — inspired by Thelma Pepper: Ordinary Women. A Retrospective.
Thank you to Wyant Group, Co-op Wine Spirits Beer and LB Distillers for their support of this fundraising series.
