At Remai Modern, inspiration is all around. It’s not only in gallery spaces, but in the ways people in our community make a difference.
The museum reached 30,000 school-aged children in 2023 through school tours, outreach programs, art camps and more. Art makes an impact on kids, inspiring confidence, ingenuity, and enthusiasm for learning.
The museum is fortunate that people in our community see this impact and support it in meaningful ways.
For the last two years, Remai Modern’s School Tours program has been funded by donors, including guests at our annual galaMODERN fundraiser and individual donors. These gifts from people in our community ensure more children can experience a school tour and be captivated by the wonders of art.
Another generous gift to Remai Modern came in 2023 to support free summer art camps for children. A donor honoured their late mother* and her passion for the arts by contributing funds to camps co-organized by Remai Modern and Persephone Theatre.
This donation launched last year, with spots for 30 children to receive free camp experiences through the Remai Arts Centre Summer Camp Scholarship. Thanks to the donor’s generosity, this program will continue each summer until 2027.
Remai Modern art camps offer innovative, fun activities delivered by professional artists in the museum’s inspiring art studio and galleries. Campers build artistic confidence and express their ideas through drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and more.
Gifts from individuals have long-term impact on children in Saskatoon and beyond.
Want to donate but not sure how much to give? Any amount is gratefully accepted, but here’s a breakdown of a few program costs:
- $500 to make art with 50 people who drop in for free weekend artmaking
- $400 for a weekly visit to an Art for Life school for classroom workshops, with art supplies and snacks
- $375 for a School Tour including transportation
- $225 for an outreach visit to a community partner
- $150 for a virtual tour with a classroom
- $125 an art kit delivered to a community partner
- $60 for snacks for a group of hungry Youth Art Night participants
Studies show art helps children create a sense of self, build confidence and self-respect, and even improve math and language skills. Children carry these skills into many areas of their lives and into adulthood.
This fall, we encourage you to make your own donation, big or small, to support a child’s sense of creativity, discovery, and self-confidence.

*This donation was made in honour of Barbara Beavis, a woman who was an avid supporter of the arts and passionate about children. Beavis served on several arts boards, including both the Mendel Art Gallery and Persephone Theatre. She also spent time on the City of Saskatoon Visual Arts Placement jury and championed fundraisers for local organizations.
