Every March in Saskatoon, more than 1,000 people attend a party that has inadvertently become the fashion event of the year. LUGO, Remai Modern’s annual art party, features incredible performances, artist activations, and moments of expression. It’s also a feast for the eyes, with attendees taking their everyday outfits up several notches. At LUGO Frequencies on March 14, 2026, the theme is all about movement.

Saskatoon stylist Reginald Sankey and photographer Carey Shaw teamed up to create some sartorial inspiration based on this year’s fashion prompt:
“Capture the vibrancy of the night with outfits that evoke perpetual motion. From the restless waves of fringe to metallic fabric that flickers with movement under party lights, we suggest styles that look best during a twirl on the dance floor.”
Sankey describes wanting to “steal moments from the night” with these looks, capturing pulsating dance floor vibes and style in motion.
The shoot features some of our LUGO Frequencies performers—Amy Grant, Mikhaila Anderson, and Justin Hauber—showcase Sankey’s vision, infusing the looks with their own impeccable style and effortless movement.

Amy Grant
Amy Grant has been doing drag for almost a decade now. She has been crowned Miss Divas 2016 and SK’s Drag Superstar 2018. As a proud first-generation immigrant, she always makes sure to incorporate her culture in her art and create spaces for other POC artists to show theirs as well. She is known for her high energy, sensuality, and a hint of camp in her performances. She definitely has a lot of tricks in her sleeve that would make you want more.
What’s your signature style?
Since I’m a drag artist, my style differs depending on my number or what them the show will be. Although in general, I always lean to glamour, edgy and very pop star-like style. Out of drag, my fashion style is usually very androgynous. I like to mix feminine and masculine.
What’s your favourite thing to wear on a night out?
I never forget to wear heels on a night out. I guess I pick fashion over comfort.
What’s your best fashion tip?
Fashion is very subjective, some may like what you wear, some may say it was a tough choice. But the only thing that matters in the end is confidence.
Can you share anything about what you plan to wear to LUGO?
I will be dressed by one of the top designers in Saskatoon, so I will keep this a secret for now. All i can say is it will be a head turner and jaw dropping so you better be ready!

Mikhaila Anderson
Mikhaila Anderson is part of The Radiant, a Saskatoon band that transcends expectations with their distinct sound–a sprawling prog rock instrumental canvas; raw emotion; complex, existential themes; and commanding, punchy, vibrant vocals. With more than fifty performances, including Ness Creek and Living Skies music festivals, The Radiant mesmerizes audiences on both large and intimate stages. The Radiant will perform alongside dancer Meghann Michalsky on the latter’s latest choreography project.
What’s your signature style?
Comfortable street fashion. Baggy pants and T-shirts are my best friends.
What’s your favourite thing to wear on a night out?
A classy pantsuit jumper and black loafer, or black cocktail dress + heels or boots. Simple jewelry.
What’s your best fashion tip?
Be yourself!! Wear what makes you feel confident. Confidence can make a potato sack look good.
Can you share anything about what you plan to wear to LUGO?
We are still cookin’ up a group look since we will be performing, so you will have to keep an eye out for The Radiant… if you will be able to recognize us 😉

Justin Hauber

What’s your signature style?
Often in primary colours, and comfy! I live in blue jeans and often end up just dressing like my dad.
What’s your favourite thing to wear on a night out?
Blue jeans , and a fun relaxing dress shirt with a few buttons opened.
What’s your best fashion tip?
If it sparks joy for you, wear it and giggle!

Too soon to know! Probably something relaxed but specific.
