Wild Black takes over the Riverview Room at Remai Modern on June 16, promising a concert that you can’t help but dance to. It’s part of the Modern Pride series, our invitation to celebrate Pride Month at the museum with your family, friends, and loved ones. This all-ages performance starts at 8 PM and also features Fransaskoise singer éemi. Both prairie-based musicians bring powerful vocals to the stage, and a creative focus on songwriting that embraces the strength of one’s inner voice. Prepare to sing along and hit the dancefloor with accompanying DJs Kehan Fu and Devon Lieffers!

“The playlists I make are either very eclectic or have a very specific vibe to fit how I’m feeling or what the soundtrack calls for. I listen to and have been influenced by so many different styles of music, which also bleed into the music I write and play. I love making playlists and typically put a lot of time and intention into them, whether for myself or others. I decided to make a playlist with songs I love and have been inspired by at various points in my life. In the spirit of Pride, they also make me wanna dance or move, and invoke a sense of liberation and bliss within me (and hopefully you)!

Modern Pride takes place over June 16 and 17, featuring this concert as well as Pride Parade sign-making and a rooftop party. We’re also offering free admission for the entire weekend, generously supported by Saskatchewan Blue Cross.
